The Suorin Air specs here come from retailer sources rather than Suorin's own pages: a 400 mAh battery, a 2 mL refillable pod with a built-in coil, micro USB charging and draw activation.3

A 2018 UK retailer guide describes a card-shaped aluminum body with no fire button on the original, which fires when you inhale.4 Vaping360 called the Suorin Air a refillable pod vape popular for its slim profile.5

Suorin Air FDA Denial

The Suorin Air FDA denial came on January 19, 2024, when the agency issued marketing denial orders to Shenzhen Youme Information Technology Co. Ltd. for the Suorin Air refillable e-cigarette and the Suorin Air empty cartridge.2

In the FDA's announcement, the agency said the applications lacked sufficient evidence regarding abuse liability, that the denied products must not be marketed or distributed in the US, and that the applicant may submit new applications.2

Vaping360 noted that the Suorin Air denial came three days after the FDA's SMOK denials of January 16, 2024, its first for open-system products that contain no e-liquid or nicotine.5

Suorin Air and Youth Use

The Suorin Air came up in reporting on youth use years before the denial: a June 8, 2018 FairWarning story quoted a Brooklyn vape shop clerk who said teens sometimes asked for the Suorin Drop or Suorin Air as alternatives to JUUL.6

In its 2024 announcement the FDA cited the 2023 National Youth Tobacco Survey, in which 3.8% of middle and high school students who had used e-cigarettes in the past 30 days reported using Suorin brand products.2

Suorin Air vs Air Pro and Air Mini

The Suorin Air is the model the FDA named; its later relatives, the Air Pro and Air Mini, were not named in the January 2024 orders and are not FDA authorized either.7

On Suorin's archived pages the Air Pro carries a 930 mAh battery and a 4.9 mL pod, and the Air Mini a 430 mAh battery and a 2 mL pod.89

The Suorin Air may not be marketed or distributed in the US under the FDA's January 19, 2024 denial orders, and it has no marketing order.2 Unauthorized e-cigarettes can also be detained at the border under FDA Import Alert 98-07.10
