Flum's user manual lists the Float as non-rechargeable, and it draws automatically when inhaled.2
Flum Float vs Flum Gio
The Flum Float and Flum Gio share the same figures on flumgio.com: up to 3,000 puffs, 650 mAh and 6.1 mL.1 Both are smaller than the Flum Pebble, which Flum rates at up to 6,000 puffs with 10 mL.
The FDA named a FLUM Gio 3,000 puff product in an August 16, 2024 warning letter to Apollo Future Technology Inc., the earliest of the FDA letters found that name a Flum product.4
Flum Float and the FLOAT Name
The Flum Float name dates to at least 2021: when Berkeley Int'l Business Crew registered as a California tobacco distributor that year, it listed the products to be sold as "ECIG-FLOAT".3
That is separate from floatvape.com, a site with FLOAT branding that lists the Float Pebble and the Float Ryzo, and whose disclaimer still mentions FLUM products.5 No rebrand of Flum products to Float has been confirmed by the company, a regulator or a court.
Is the Flum Float Legal in the US?
The Flum Float can't be legally sold under federal rules, because it has no FDA marketing order, and no Flum product is on the FDA's authorized list, current as of August 28, 2026.6
California's Attorney General alleges that chemical testing found menthol in the Flum Float "Clear", which the complaint says is advertised as unflavored, in a suit that says flavored FLUM sales violate the state's flavor ban.3 The state announced the case on January 15, 2025 in a release from its Attorney General.7
How to Spot a Fake Flum Float
To spot a fake Flum Float, enter the anti-counterfeiting number from the pack on flumgio.com's verify page, which tells visitors to beware of fake FLOAT disposables and says a code checked more than 3 times may point to a counterfeit.8
Flum asks the public to report suspected fakes to info@flumgio.com, per its October 20, 2023 anti-counterfeiting notice.9
