Who Makes Flum?

Flum is imported and sold in the US by Flumgio Technology Inc., a California corporation formed in 2021 whose registered place of business is in Rowland Heights, according to the complaint California's Attorney General filed in January 2025.⁵

The complaint quotes Flumgio's own federal court filings saying it imports, offers for sale and sells FLUM-branded products in the United States, and it names Berkeley Int'l Business Crew Inc. of City of Industry as a second company that imported and distributed them. The two shared a City of Industry warehouse address from April 2021 to April 2023.⁵

Ownership of the FLUM name has moved. The trademark was registered on April 20, 2021 by Worldless Global Inc., assigned to Flumgio Technology Inc. on July 27, 2021 and assigned again on March 14, 2023 to Huaf Technology Limited of Hong Kong, the complaint says; the current owner is not confirmed.⁵

A FLUM representative told investigators at a February 2024 trade show that FLUM was the leading seller on the West Coast, the complaint adds; that is the company's claim, not sales data.⁵ A site called flumfloatvapes.com describes itself as an independent US distributor, not the brand.⁷

Flum and the Float Name

Flum and the Float name appear together on both brand sites. Flumgio.com lists a FLUM Float series and, on its verify page archived May 20, 2026, tells visitors to beware of fake FLOAT disposables, while floatvape.com carries FLOAT branding but its disclaimer still refers to FLUM products with nicotine e-liquid.⁸⁴

The floatvape.com domain had a Float Pebble page by June 12, 2025; a copy of the same domain from April 17, 2024 shows a different retail store, so the address was repurposed.⁹¹⁰ The Float name itself is older than that site: when Berkeley Int'l Business Crew registered as a California tobacco distributor in 2021, it listed its products as "ECIG-FLOAT".⁵

Some resellers say the Flum Pebble was renamed Float Pebble.¹¹ No statement from the company, a regulator or a court confirming a rebrand, its date or the owner of the Float name has been found, so this page treats Flum and Float as two names the brand sites link, and nothing more.

Flum Lawsuits and the California Case

Flum faces a California lawsuit filed on January 15, 2025, when the state's Attorney General sued Flumgio Technology Inc., Berkeley Int'l Business Crew Inc. and their founder in Los Angeles County Superior Court over importing FLUM e-cigarettes from China and selling them in California.²

California's complaint against Flumgio alleges sales in violation of the state's flavor ban, marketing aimed at young people and misleading ads for "Clear" versions, which it says chemical testing found to contain menthol; the state seeks an injunction and civil penalties.⁵ The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, an advocacy group, reports that the court denied a demurrer in July 2025.¹²

Patent and trademark cases run alongside. VPR Brands, LP sued Flumgio Technology Inc. over the Flum Pebble 6000 on August 19, 2024, and the case closed on June 6, 2025 after the parties reported a settlement; Flumgio has also sued others over the FLUM trademark in California federal courts in 2022.¹³

A Hong Kong company named Flumgio Technology Ltd. was found in default on September 16, 2024 in an R.J. Reynolds patent case at the US International Trade Commission, which ended on March 13, 2026 with a finding of no violation.¹⁴

Flum and the FDA

Flum products have no FDA marketing order, and the FDA warning letters found that name them went to sellers rather than to the maker.¹⁵

The letters went to Apollo Future Technology Inc. on August 16, 2024 over a FLUM Gio 3,000 puff product, to vapordna.com on May 16, 2025 over the Flum Pebble 6000 Puffs, to Performance Plus Marketing Inc. on June 18, 2025 and chubbysmoke.com on September 18, 2025 over the Flum Mello, and to vape4sale.com on May 15, 2026 over a Flum UT 50,000 Puffs sold to a person under 21.^1617181920

No Flum, Float or Flumgio entry appears on the Import Alert 98-06 Red List copy archived December 2, 2024, and Import Alert 98-07, which has covered e-cigarettes since January 3, 2025, lists no firms as of October 26, 2026.²¹²² Pennsylvania's ENDS directory, enforced from October 19, 2026, lists no Flum or Float product, and neither is on the state's October 16, 2026 pending-certification list.²³²⁴

How to Spot a Fake Flum

To spot a fake Flum, enter the anti-counterfeiting number from the pack on flumgio.com's verify page; Flum says a code that does not match its records may be fake, and that a code checked more than 3 times, even a valid one, may point to a counterfeit.⁸

Floatvape.com's verify page uses the same wording, and both sites have a Report Counterfeit page that asks for the store name and a receipt.²⁵²⁶ Flum's October 20, 2023 notice says it formed a special committee on counterfeits, has filed lawsuits against distributors and retailers of fake products and takes reports at info@flumgio.com.²⁷
