Who Makes Voopoo?
Voopoo is made by Shenzhen VOOPOO Technology Co., Ltd, the company named on its October 1, 2025 press release, and is a brand of ICCPP Group.4 ICCPP says it was established in 2014 and has business teams in the US, the UK, France, Germany and Canada, and its home page lists two brand sites, VOOPOO and DRAGBAR.56
Voopoo says it is used in more than 70 countries and regions and counts over 1,000 global partners, 2,800 patents and 50 million users.3 Those are the company's own figures.
Voopoo History and Launch Dates
Voopoo history, as the company tells it, begins with founders who worked on materials and electronics research from 2010, set up ICCPP in 2014 and in 2016 established the Voopoo brand and acquired Woodyvapes, a US e-cigarette brand.3 Voopoo launched globally in 2017 with the first DRAG, and that year it formed a partnership with GENE Corporation to develop its own chips.
The VINCI line followed in 2019, and Voopoo says it won a Best Device Award and a Best Equipment Innovation Award at an e-cigarette show in the US. Voopoo dates its iCOSM CODE pod technology to 2023.3
On October 1, 2025, alongside a brand refresh for its 8th anniversary, Voopoo announced the DRAG S3, with a 3,000 mAh built-in battery and a 60 W ceiling, and the DRAG X3, which takes one external 18650 or 21700 battery and reaches 80 W.4
The DRAG 6 launch article is dated March 4, 2026.7 The ARGUS G4 and G4 mini were announced on May 18, 2026, and the ARGUS Z3 on September 18, 2026.89 As of October 26, 2026, Voopoo's news page groups its products as ARGUS pods (G4, G4 mini, Z3 and P3), VMATE pods, VRIZZ, and DRAG (DRAG 6, DRAG H40 Pro, DRAG S3 and DRAG X3).10
Voopoo's PMTA Filing Claims
Voopoo says it submitted a premarket tobacco product application (PMTA) to the FDA on August 27, 2020, according to a Voopoo news post dated September 1, 2020.11
Its PMTA page goes further, saying the application "passed the first round of review" and later the second round. Those are Voopoo's words, not an FDA finding, and no FDA decision on the application could be found. The same page lists the DRAG X Mod Pod, DRAG 2 Platinum, VINCI Mod Pod, VINCI AIR Pod, ARGUS GT and ARGUS AIR as "Hot Products" but does not say which products the application covers.12
The Voopoo Rota and the FDA's April 2020 Release
The Voopoo Rota 340mAh Pod System Kit was named in the FDA's April 27, 2020 release announcing ten warning letters, as one of several products the agency said resemble items popular with kids, in this case a fidget spinner.13
Voopoo itself was not among the ten firms that received those letters, which included the maker of Uwell, and no FDA warning letter addressed to Voopoo or ICCPP has been found.14
Is Voopoo Legal in the US?
Voopoo devices can't be legally sold under federal rules without an FDA marketing order, and as of October 2026 none has one. None appears on the FDA's list of authorized e-cigarettes, which held 48 products as of August 28, 2026.1
At the border, FDA Import Alert 98-07 lets FDA divisions detain e-cigarettes that lack premarket authorization without physical examination. It applies to such products in general and names no Voopoo product.15
In Pennsylvania, which began enforcing its vape directory against unlisted products on October 19, 2026, Voopoo was not among the six manufacturers on the state list as of October 10, 2026.16 The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that the directory requires a product marketed in the US as of August 8, 2016 with a PMTA submitted by September 9, 2020.17
How to Spot a Fake Voopoo
To spot a fake Voopoo, check the anti-counterfeit label against the two types Voopoo's security code page describes.18 On the V2 label, the "VP" shines in several colors when the mark is tilted in the light; on the V1 label, the "V" appears to move as the viewing angle changes. On either one, scratch off the silver cover, scan the QR code and type the security code printed next to it into the authenticity box.
In an April 2023 statement, Voopoo said each box carries an anti-counterfeit logo and a mark saying it is not for people under the legal age, and that it works with government officials every month against counterfeits from unlicensed workshops.19
